Backend Engineer – Coverage Team

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Argentina, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Develop, sustain, and enhance integrations with employment and income data sources.

• Analyze and resolve production-related issues.

• Investigate web and mobile applications to understand their interactions with backend systems.

• Collaborate with undocumented or partially documented third-party APIs.

• Troubleshoot authentication flows, network requests, and data extraction procedures.

• Write dependable and maintainable Python code.

• Participate in technical design choices and advance engineering practices.

• Enhance testing, monitoring, and automation of systems.

• Work closely with engineers, Product Managers, Data Scientists, and other team members.

• Take responsibility for your work, iterate swiftly, learn from feedback, and focus on continuous improvement.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficiency in Python.

• Experience in web scraping, automation, data extraction, or related technical challenges.

• Solid understanding of HTTP, APIs, and client-server communication.

• Some familiarity with exploring or troubleshooting web and/or mobile applications.

• Ability and eagerness to investigate systems with limited or incomplete documentation.

• Strong problem-solving skills and a keen interest in understanding mechanisms.

• Capacity to learn independently and adapt to unfamiliar technical challenges.

• Proficient in written and spoken English.

• Nice to have: experience in network debugging and traffic analysis.

• Nice to have: knowledge of authentication and authorization processes.

• Nice to have: understanding of application security, encryption, and common security protocols.

• Nice to have: experience in reverse-engineering web or mobile application behaviors.

• Nice to have: familiarity with large datasets.

• Nice to have: understanding of privacy-by-design principles.

• Nice to have: experience in automated testing, CI/CD, monitoring, or DevOps practices.
