Backend Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and manage essential services that drive an enterprise AI platform

• Contribute to the AI gateway, orchestration layer, entitlement management, tenancy models, data access methodologies, integration frameworks, APIs, and platform services

• Take ownership of services from design and implementation through testing, deployment, reliability, and ongoing support

• Create reliable, testable, and maintainable backend and platform services

• Design APIs and developer experiences tailored for both internal and external users

• Develop multi-tenant systems, ensure tenant isolation, define service boundaries, and implement platform-level enforcement patterns

• Construct integration frameworks, connector patterns, governed data access solutions, and robust data on-ramps

• Oversee retries, handle partial failures, ensure consistency, manage idempotency, back-pressure, and operational failure scenarios

• Collaborate in client-facing consulting settings

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in building and managing production backend, API, or distributed platform services

• Strong software engineering capabilities with a focus on designing reliable, testable, and maintainable services

• Familiarity with AI gateways, orchestration, entitlements, tenancy, metering, quotas, or comparable platform functionalities

• Competence in crafting APIs and developer experiences for internal and external users

• Experience with multi-tenant systems, tenant isolation, service boundaries, and platform-level enforcement patterns

• Background in developing integration frameworks, connector patterns, governed data access, or dependable data on-ramps

• Deep understanding of retries, partial failures, consistency, idempotency, back-pressure, and operational failure scenarios

• Proven track record of owning services through design, development, testing, deployment, monitoring, and support

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills for client-facing consulting roles

• Pragmatic approach with the ability to deliver meaningful value rapidly while upholding engineering quality

• Proficiency in C#, Python, Go, or similar backend programming languages

• Familiarity with API gateways, orchestration systems, connector frameworks, event-driven architectures, or platform engineering

• Experience with AI, LLM, RAG, agentic workflows, tool/function calling, MCP, A2A, or AI development lifecycle practices

• Knowledge of event-sourced metering, quotas, entitlements, or billing-related platform services

• Experience in building enterprise-scale software utilized by multiple products, customers, or internal teams

• Experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools while maintaining rigorous review, testing, and architectural discipline
