Backend Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Develop and improve backend services that support the product.

• Create scalable, secure, and highly available APIs for use by mobile applications.

• Apply business rules related to product functionality.

• Implement services that offer the configurations and structures necessary for the Server-Driven UI strategy.

• Define and refine contracts between the backend and mobile applications.

• Develop services based on principles of modular and decoupled architecture.

• Integrate with existing services and platforms within the client’s ecosystem.

• Develop mechanisms for authentication, authorization, and access control.

• Implement concurrency management, idempotency, and operational consistency.

• Ensure traceability of operations performed by users.

• Implement effective error handling, exception management, and service unavailability protocols.

• Create unit and integration tests and facilitate automated testing.

• Engage in code reviews and establish development standards.

• Support observability strategies through structured logs, metrics, and distributed tracing.

• Collaborate effectively with Architecture, Mobile, QA, the Product Owner, and the Squad Leader.

• Assist in performance analysis, troubleshooting, and ongoing service improvement.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience in Java backend development.

• Experience in REST API development.

• Familiarity with microservices architecture.

• Knowledge of distributed systems.

• Understanding of design patterns and SOLID principles.

• Proficiency in Clean Architecture and software engineering best practices.

• Experience with synchronous and asynchronous integration between services.

• Knowledge of relational and/or NoSQL databases.

• Familiarity with caching strategies.

• Experience with messaging and event-driven architectures.

• Proficient in Git.

• Experience in unit and integration testing.

• Knowledge of CI/CD processes.

• Familiarity with containers.

• Understanding of Kubernetes.

• Knowledge of cloud environments, preferably AWS.

• Familiarity with OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, JWT, authentication and authorization, RBAC and access control, API security, encryption of data both in transit and at rest, secrets and credential management, secure coding, OWASP API Security, and Zero Trust principles is desirable.

• Familiarity or experience with Server-Driven UI architectures is highly valued, including contracts for dynamic UI representation, APIs tailored for mobile journey composition, schema versioning, compatibility between application versions, feature flags, remote configuration, fallback strategies, evolving journeys without the need for direct new releases, and the separation of business rules, experience configuration, and presentation.
