Back-End Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Design and create RESTful APIs and microservices

• Develop and sustain effective AWS Lambda functions alongside event-driven architectures

• Integrate backend systems with AWS API Gateway, DynamoDB, PostgreSQL, Cognito, and S3

• Ensure that backend systems are secure, efficient, and scalable

• Execute automated testing and engage in code review processes

• Collaborate with business analysts, architects, front-end developers, and QA testers

• Take part in testing and deployment activities

• Diagnose and resolve technical issues throughout the stack

• Assist in the modernization and enhancement of a loan origination and servicing system

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience with Node.js or Python for backend development

• Practical experience with AWS Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, PostgreSQL, Cognito, and S3

• Knowledge of serverless architecture and industry best practices

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code (using CloudFormation, Terraform, or CDK)

• Understanding of authentication and authorization mechanisms, including OIDC (OAuth2) and JWT

• Strong grasp of security best practices within cloud environments

• Excellent problem-solving abilities and capacity to thrive in an agile setting

• Preferred: AWS Certified Solutions Architect or Developer

• Preferred: Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as SonarQube, CloudWatch, and X-Ray

• Preferred: Experience with large-scale information technology and database systems utilizing Java technologies and SQL Server

• Preferred: Experience in developing and/or supporting loan origination and servicing systems

• Strong proficiency in written and verbal communication in English

• All contractor employees must be capable of reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English
