Azure Networking Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design hub-and-spoke and vWAN architectures across multiple subscription Azure environments.

• Deploy Azure Route Server to facilitate dynamic route exchanges between VNets and network virtual appliances.

• Create secure connectivity models utilizing VNets, peering, UDRs, NSGs, Azure Firewall, Application Gateway, and Load Balancer.

• Integrate Cisco vMX, Netskope, and SolarWinds virtual appliances into the network architecture.

• Oversee network architecture and design initiatives for large-scale migrations of on-premises workloads and network frameworks into Azure.

• Evaluate current on-premises routing, firewalls, and WAN links to define target-state Azure network designs and migration timelines.

• Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and application teams to plan transition processes, reduce downtime, and ensure post-migration connectivity.

• Develop migration runbooks, network design documentation, and as-built records for each migration phase.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive knowledge of Azure networking services such as VNets, Azure Route Server, vWAN, NSGs, Azure Firewall, and Application Gateway.

• Practical experience with Cisco vMX, Netskope, and SolarWinds virtual appliances.

• Strong grasp of BGP, dynamic routing, and hybrid connectivity solutions.

• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and automation techniques.

• Demonstrated experience in delivering network architecture for projects involving the migration of on-premises systems to Azure cloud.

• Familiarity with IP address planning and CIDR allocation for large, multi-environment Azure landing zones.

• Over 15 years of comprehensive networking experience, with significant Azure networking expertise at scale.

• Experience serving as a lead or senior architect on at least one large-scale Azure migration project.

• Excellent communication skills with stakeholders.

• Proven ability to facilitate design workshops and create clear architectural documentation.

• Collaborative and cross-functional approach when working with security, infrastructure, and application teams.

• Methodical and structured approach to troubleshooting intricate, multi-vendor networks.
