This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Assist the Auto Physical Damage Operation by managing material damage claims for insurance policies issued by the Interinsurance Exchange.
• Perform physical inspections and generate accurate and comprehensive vehicle repair estimates.
• Assess damages related to accidents and evaluate the repairability of vehicles.
• Engage with insured individuals, claimants, repair facilities, internal claims personnel, and others regarding claims, repairs, coverage, and policy procedures.
• Document estimated damages with photographs and detailed descriptions in the company's claims systems.
• Negotiate within the settlement authority to resolve claims, including disputes concerning repair costs or coverage.
• Collaborate with internal departments.
• Respond promptly and effectively to customer needs, inquiries, and issues.
• Provide assistance with catastrophe responsibilities as needed.
• Utilize discretion and independent judgment in analyzing and resolving complex losses.
• Determine policy obligations by evaluating damage and comparing it with the facts of loss.
• Independently manage claim exposures within the designated level of authority.
• Advanced knowledge of automotive repair processes, vehicle systems, and damage assessment.
• Capability to accurately estimate repair expenses.
• In-depth understanding of estimating software platforms.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, general computer software, and advanced technical software skills related to the line of business.
• Familiarity with the CCC Estimating Platform.
• Strong organizational and planning skills are essential.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
• Strong interpersonal skills are required.
• Experience in customer service is mandatory.
• Ability to identify and resolve complex issues related to damage assessment and repair costs.
• Commitment to ongoing education.
• Must be adaptable to assist with catastrophe duties within the extended organization.
• Valid Driver's License, an acceptable Department of Motor Vehicles record, and minimum liability insurance as mandated by the state are required.
• Completion of Collision Repair & Refinish Certification Tests (B Series) - Automotive Service Excellence is necessary.
• I-CAR Platinum or ASE certifications are preferred.
• 4-6 years of experience in claims is preferred.
• 4-6 years of estimating experience is preferred.
• An associate, vocational, or bachelor's degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.
