This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.
• Conduct physical inspections and evaluations of damaged vehicles through virtual or on-site assessments at body shops or customer locations.
• Execute estimate reviews and work in conjunction with repair facilities to ensure precision, uniformity, and quality across claims.
• Create repair estimates utilizing industry-standard estimating software.
• Assess actual cash value and finalize total-loss vehicles using market research, comparable vehicle analysis, and valuation tools.
• Negotiate repair expenses and settlements with body shops, customers, and third-party claimants.
• Recognize and document pre-existing damage, previous repairs, and potential indicators of fraud.
• Collaborate with claim representatives, body shops, and vendors to facilitate repairs and authorize supplements.
• Deliver customer service by clarifying the appraisal process, addressing inquiries, and keeping vehicle owners updated.
• Adjust to technology integrations, system enhancements, and digital tool deployments, including AI resources.
• Act as a technical resource for auto claim personnel and provide guidance to claim professionals on claim damages.
• Carry out additional duties as assigned.
• Bachelor’s Degree.
• Active adjuster license, if applicable.
• Two years of experience in auto physical damage appraisal.
• Proficiency in claims management and estimating software.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office and enterprise technology systems and platforms.
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
• Capability to exercise sound judgment and make effective decisions.
• Exceptional customer service skills.
• Keen attention to detail and excellent organizational abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrated conflict resolution skills.
• Capacity to manage stress while maintaining composure and professionalism under pressure.
• Basic understanding of insurance principles, terminology, state insurance regulations, and claim handling requirements.
• Ability to quickly learn from experience and apply knowledge to new situations.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• One year of experience in auto physical damage appraisal or comparable claim-related experience, or successful completion of the required Travelers Claim Representative training program.
• Valid driver's license.
