Attorney

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Evaluate a variety of (re)insurance and vendor contracts, including reinsurance treaties, binding authority agreements, third-party administrator agreements, and wholesale broker agreements.

• Create various insurance regulatory filings and oversee regulatory responses while engaging with government agencies.

• Investigate a range of legal and regulatory issues pertinent to distribution and product offerings.

• Keep track of legislative and regulatory changes in (re)insurance and distribution, advising leadership on potential effects and necessary operational adjustments.

• Support governance-related issues concerning the parent company and its subsidiaries both in the U.S. and internationally.

• Provide guidance on corporate structure and entity formation issues.

• Counsel on matters related to AI, privacy, cybersecurity, and intellectual property law.

• Contribute to the development and efficient operations of Ledgebrook’s Legal, Regulatory & Compliance function.

• Collaborate across the organization to assist all business units with their legal and regulatory concerns, fostering rapport and credibility through expertise and responsiveness.

⛳️ Requirements

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

• Active license to practice law in at least one (1) state.

• A minimum of 7 years of legal practice experience, ideally in an in-house position for an (re)insurance company or with a law firm advising the (re)insurance industry on various issues.

• Strong understanding of U.S. insurance laws and regulations.

• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

• Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

• High level of professionalism, ethics, and integrity.
