Associate Technology Designer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Design and manage security systems, encompassing CCTV, access control, intrusion detection, duress alarms, intercoms, perimeter detection, and related low-voltage systems.

• Create and sustain detailed Revit models for electronic security and technology systems.

• Ensure adherence to project BIM standards and client specifications.

• Generate plans, elevations, details, schedules, and system layouts utilizing Revit and other design tools.

• Integrate technology systems with architectural, structural, and MEP disciplines.

• Engage in client BIM meetings and address design conflicts through model assessments and interdisciplinary collaboration.

• Assist with technical specifications, design reports, equipment schedules, and construction documentation.

• Support project managers and technical leads with project timelines, budgets, deliverables, and milestones.

• Review architectural and engineering drawings to pinpoint technology system needs and integration possibilities.

• Ensure designs are in conformity with industry standards, codes, regulations, and client directives.

• Cultivate technical knowledge in Revit, BIM workflows, security technologies, and design consulting practices.

• Foster relationships with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal project teams.

• Enhance design efficiency, workflows, and project delivery through BIM technologies.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of three (3) years of industry experience in a related field.

• At least one year of experience in security system design (preferred).

• Over three (3) years of advanced expertise in Autodesk Revit and BIM modeling.

• Proficient in Autodesk Forma/Construction Cloud (ACC) for CDE management and model federation.

• Competence in Bluebeam mark-up.

• Familiarity with and understanding of traditional RIBA design stages 2–4.

• Capability to interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings for coordinating and integrating low-voltage and technology system requirements.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to engage architects, engineers, and other project team members effectively.

• Skill in developing and implementing best practices, standards, and processes.
