This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Assess answers to test questions provided by Texas teacher candidates.

• Familiarize yourself with scoring standards, engage in discussions, and collaborate with fellow scorers during consensus scoring activities.

• Identify and engage in conversations about various biases, such as implicit, cultural, leniency, central tendency, and halo-effect bias, while implementing strategies to minimize personal biases in scoring.

• Fulfill quality and productivity expectations of the scoring program, which includes passing a qualifying test prior to scoring.

• Complete required training prior to the commencement of scoring activities.

• Attend a potentially brief orientation meeting before scoring begins.

• Participate in periodic scoring sessions from Monday to Friday every 4 to 8 weeks, depending on the subject area.

• Work scoring days from 8:30 a.m. to around 4:30 p.m., which includes training.


⛳️ Requirements

• Possess a minimum of three years of teaching experience in the subject you are applying for within the state of Texas.

• Have taught the subject you are applying for or related courses in a Texas classroom within the last three years.

• Reside within the state of Texas.

• Hold a bachelor's degree.

• Have basic computer skills (keyboard and mouse proficiency).

• Capable of sitting for extended periods.

• Maintain a confidential work environment.

• Eligible to work in the United States.

• Adhere to the ethical responsibilities outlined under §SBEC 230.21(g), including test security and confidentiality mandates.

• Agree not to utilize scorer training or experience for paid test-preparation work related to this assessment.

• Agree not to take the exam for the subject applied for within 180 days after scoring.

• Meet one of the following criteria: be a PK–12 teacher with a valid and current Texas teaching certificate for the subject; be an EPP faculty member of a Texas-approved program offering the subject; or be an EPP faculty member teaching Texas-approved certification courses for the subject.
