Associate Manager – Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Utah.

📋 Description

• Oversee the Mortgage Engineering team dedicated to enhancing the Admin Experience for nCino’s mortgage suite.

• Supervise daily software engineering operations and project delivery, offering hands-on support as necessary.

• Enhance team processes, collaboration, code quality, maintainability, performance, and scalability.

• Mentor and empower team members, delegate tasks, set deadlines, and ensure accuracy of work.

• Provide training and opportunities for professional growth for team members.

• Collaborate with senior leadership on hiring decisions and performance management.

• Utilize AI for code generation, testing, debugging, optimization, pattern detection, automation, and improving development efficiency.

• Assess and incorporate AI/ML capabilities to enhance product functionality and user experience.

• Keep abreast of emerging AI trends and best practices to foster continuous learning and innovation.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field, along with 6+ years of relevant experience and at least 1 year in a management role, or a combination of education and experience.

• Proficiency in a minimum of one major programming language.

• Knowledge of software engineering principles, including system design, architecture, and development methodologies.

• Experience in a fast-paced development setting with a focus on enhancing development practices and processes within a large-scale organization.

• Proven track record as a coach and mentor to technical personnel.

• Demonstrated commitment to quality and ongoing improvement.

• Capability to self-motivate and inspire others, prioritize tasks, and adapt within a dynamic team environment.

• Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and interpersonal abilities.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills suitable for both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Professional Scrum Master (PSM) certification.

• Familiarity with the AWS platform.

• Experience with Ruby and Vue.js.
