Associate Manager, Content Production, EPUB

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +3 more locations.

📋 Description

• Take charge of the EPUB publishing pipeline, ensuring outputs are accurate, consistent, and accessible.

• Analyze Quality Review errors and recommend workflow modifications to avoid future occurrences.

• Enhance throughput by minimizing rework and establishing dependable transformation processes.

• Work directly with the master BITS XML dataset that underpins CFA Institute’s single-source publishing model.

• Maintain and optimize workflows for EPUB transformation, rendering, and validation.

• Investigate rendering issues specific to devices and readers, confirming resolutions across applicable environments.

• Assist in ensuring that EPUB outputs comply with accessibility, semantic tagging, and presentation criteria.

• Design, test, and implement enhancements to workflow and automation within the established publishing standards.

• Diagnose intricate cross-platform transformation and rendering challenges.

• Collaborate with Content Technology and other specialists as needed.

• Maintain workflow documentation and uphold standards.

• Contribute expertise in XML and structured publishing to related content production initiatives.

• Potentially engage in new data conversion and ingestion projects.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive hands-on experience with XML and structured content in an electronic or digital publishing setting.

• Practical knowledge of single-source publishing and the conversion of one structured source into various publication formats.

• Proficient in XML structures, schemas, DTDs, or similar structured-content standards.

• Proven experience in producing digital publishing outputs and managing the associated data and transformations.

• Experience in identifying and resolving issues within publishing pipelines.

• Experience in enhancing publishing workflows to minimize errors, rework, and manual intervention.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

• Familiarity with EPUB production, accessibility, and cross-device rendering.

• Experience working collaboratively across Production, Quality Review, and Technology teams.

• Ability to work autonomously, take ownership of workflows, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

• Data conversion/ingestion experience is a plus.
