This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Conduct corporate income tax duties for the parent company and its subsidiaries, encompassing federal, state, and local compliance.
• Prepare tax provisions, estimates, extensions, returns, and related documentation.
• Draft replies to tax notices and liaise with tax authorities as required.
• Create accurate work papers, tax returns, supporting forms, schedules, and associated deliverables.
• Oversee compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations and counsel management on necessary actions.
• Collect and assemble financial data for tax audits and engagements.
• Maintain a tax calendar to track compliance deadlines.
• Collaborate with external tax vendors and specialists to guarantee timely tax reporting.
• Coordinate with internal business units to ensure precise and timely information exchange.
• Manage workload proactively with minimal oversight.
• Enhance professional and technical expertise through workshops, publications, networking, and professional organizations.
• Acquire knowledge of federal and state tax laws relevant to cooperatives.
• Provide assistance with indirect tax, credits and incentives, mergers and acquisitions, and other tax-related issues.
• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a comparable business-related field is required.
• At least five years of progressive experience in taxation.
• Familiarity with federal, state, and local compliance for corporations and partnerships is essential.
• Proficiency in ASC 740 Accounting for Income Taxes is required.
• Experience with various tax returns and supporting documents, including Forms 1120 and 1065, as well as different state and local forms.
• Ability to monitor, research, document, and implement changes in tax legislation relevant to the income tax process.
• Experience with tax research software is preferred.
