This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey, +1 more state.
• Formulate strategic plans for the territory and pinpoint national, regional, and local cardiovascular Key Opinion Leaders.
• Engage with KOLs and healthcare providers through both proactive and reactive scientific discussions.
• Develop and sustain relationships with physicians, NPs, PAs, nurses, and pharmacists within institutional care facilities.
• Broaden opportunities for research, advisory, and educational partnerships.
• Identify unmet medical needs and share current medical information regarding products in development and relevant therapeutic areas.
• Organize and implement Congress activities, which include reviewing conference programming, attending sessions, supporting exhibit booth operations, and preparing conference reports.
• Act as a scientific authority at conferences, advisory boards, clinical investigator meetings, internal gatherings, and patient advocacy group meetings.
• Keep abreast of scientific knowledge related to disease states, treatment guidelines, available therapies, clinical research trends, competitive developments, patient care, and Cytokinetics’ medical strategies.
• Collaborate with Medical Affairs and internal teams on medical information, publications, medical education, grants, speaker training, and educational initiatives.
• Provide support for clinical development programs as a liaison for company-sponsored trial investigators, investigator-initiated research, and registries.
• Work in compliance with field account specialists supporting MYQORZO.
• Respond accurately and promptly to unsolicited Medical Information inquiries.
• Mentor and assist Senior Medical Scientists.
• Offer strategic insights and execute region-specific KOL engagement and Medical Affairs strategies.
• Independently pursue projects with a focus on high-quality, timely execution.
• Stay informed about real-world clinical practices, HEOR drivers, and evolving treatment trends.
• Build relationships with executive leadership colleagues and facilitate connections between external parties and relevant leadership team members.
• Bilingual in Spanish is highly preferred.
• An advanced clinical or scientific degree (PharmD, PhD, MD/DO, MS, PA, or ARNP) is preferred.
• For Sr. MSL, 0–5 years of experience in the clinical or pharmaceutical industry is required.
• For Associate Director, a minimum of 5 years of cardiovascular MSL experience is necessary.
• Experience in cardiovascular conditions such as hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and/or heart failure is preferable.
• Strong analytical and articulate skills in oral and written communication.
• Exceptional presentation abilities.
• Capacity to effectively communicate with external stakeholders and all levels within the organization.
• Knowledge of Medical Science Liaison roles and responsibilities, including adherence to the PhRMA Code Standards, Federal and State promotional laws and regulations, ACCME Standards, the Code of Business Conduct and Ethics, and company policies.
• Compliance with credentialing requirements for healthcare institutions, which may include background checks, medical testing or proof of immunizations, facility-policy training, and confidentiality and/or HIPAA agreements.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and web-based applications.
• Valid US Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record.
• Willingness to travel domestically approximately 30%–50% and internationally on occasion.
