This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee the assessment, structuring, negotiation, and execution of mergers and acquisitions (M&A) in the renewable energy sector, including acquisitions, joint ventures, and strategic investments.
• Direct transactions from the initial assessment stage through due diligence, negotiation, approvals, documentation, and final closing.
• Facilitate cross-functional due diligence across various workstreams, including commercial, technical, legal, tax, accounting, financing, development, and construction.
• Analyze financial models, valuation assessments, transaction structures, materials for the investment committee, and provide recommendations.
• Engage in negotiations with sellers, buyers, investors, partners, and other relevant parties.
• Recognize transaction risks and formulate strategies for mitigation.
• Oversee external advisors in financial, legal, technical, and other areas.
• Lead divestitures of renewable projects across solar, storage, and hybrid assets.
• Manage workflows on the sell-side, including buyer outreach, due diligence, negotiations, documentation, and closure.
• Assess strategic partnerships, growth opportunities, investment themes, business models, and strategies for market entry.
• Create commercial and financial analyses to support strategic decisions and allocation of capital.
• Keep abreast of industry trends, competitive dynamics, transaction activities, capital markets, and changing energy business models.
• Direct cross-functional transaction teams, establishing work plans, priorities, timelines, and accountability measures.
• Mentor junior members of the Business Development team.
• Prepare and present high-level materials and strategic analyses to senior management and investment committees.
• Assist in transaction processes, promote best practices, and enhance organizational capabilities as the platform grows.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 7–12+ years of pertinent professional experience with significant transaction execution involvement.
• Proven senior-level execution experience in M&A, project acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, or other complex transactions.
• Strong abilities in financial modeling, valuation, transaction structuring, and investment analysis.
• Experience in managing intricate due diligence and transaction processes.
• Excellent commercial judgment with the capability to identify and convey transaction risks and opportunities.
• Exceptional negotiation, presentation, and executive communication skills.
• Capacity to independently oversee multiple transactions and strategic initiatives in a fast-paced setting.
• Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to manage and guide junior team members.
• Proficiency in advanced Excel and PowerPoint is required.
• An MBA or another relevant advanced degree is preferred.
• Experience in renewable energy transactions involving solar, energy storage, and hybrid projects is strongly preferred.
