Associate Director – Business Innovation and Sustainability

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Spearhead the execution of impactful partnerships with affiliates, mission-aligned innovators, startups, FemTech companies, and external vendors to enhance program sustainability.

• Take ownership of the complete project lifecycle, which includes tracking milestones, mitigating risks, and preparing project management materials.

• Design, develop, and execute high-priority pilot projects and support initiatives in collaboration with the Stronger Change Office and Planned Parenthood affiliates.

• Conduct business assessments, perform market research, create financial models, and develop tools and processes to scale innovative business strategies.

• Collaborate with affiliates to co-create revenue-generating healthcare innovation partnerships and assess potential mission-aligned partners.

• Oversee the portfolio of business innovation and sustainability projects, including stakeholder management, tracking deliverables, and conducting operational and strategic analyses.

• Manage revenue-sharing partnerships, landscape assessments, ROI models, partner selection criteria, partnership frameworks, and revenue streams.

• Structure and initiate pilot partnerships, establish KPIs, assess outcomes, and develop tools and processes for scaling.

• Provide guidance to affiliates on preparedness for new business opportunities and facilitate go/no-go assessments through financial modeling.

• Communicate program impact and business cases through data collection, narrative development, and reporting of key metrics.

• Create and disseminate tools, best practices, resources, dashboards, and business assessments to aid strategic decision-making and affiliate sustainability.

• Prepare project timelines, materials, reports, presentations, one-pagers, handouts, and communications for stakeholders.

• Present project updates and findings to the Stronger Change Office, PPFA National Office, and affiliates.

• Facilitate the Innovations Working Group and organize workshops and meetings.

• Conduct and synthesize research through internet searches, focus groups, surveys, and interviews.

• Identify operational challenges and project risks and formulate mitigation strategies.

• Maintain ongoing communication with affiliates and collect feedback to enhance project development and execution.

• Report directly to the Senior Director, Stronger Operations and Business.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.


⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in management consulting, healthcare advisory, or corporate strategy.

• Extensive knowledge of the U.S. domestic healthcare ecosystem, including payers, public health networks, digital health, or FemTech.

• A minimum of 6 years of progressive professional experience in complex program management.

• Experience integrating rigorous financial analysis, sustainable business planning, market analysis, and high-impact external partnership management.

• Bachelor’s degree is mandatory.

• An MBA, MPA, MPH, or equivalent is preferred.

• A combination of professional experience and skills may be accepted in lieu of formal/traditional education.

• Required experience in the U.S. healthcare ecosystem.

• Familiarity with healthcare innovation, startup ecosystems, or FemTech is necessary.

• Comprehensive understanding of project management lifecycles, risk identification, and methodologies for managing multiple complex workstreams.

• Knowledge of KPIs, business dashboards, and ROI metrics.

• Capability to translate sustainability objectives into actionable program plans, timelines, and pilot frameworks.

• Strong skills in market research, landscape scanning, and financial analysis.

• Ability to clearly present complex data, project updates, and business cases to diverse audiences.

• Experience managing consultative networks, facilitating working groups, and gathering stakeholder input.

• Proven track record of completing projects within defined scope, budget, and timeline while managing multiple concurrent projects in a highly matrixed environment.

• Exceptionally organized, process-oriented self-starter who can thrive in a fast-paced environment.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal abilities.

• Capacity to build effective partnerships across internal and external stakeholders and work collaboratively across differences.

• High proficiency in Google products.

• Awareness of and sensitivity to racial/ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds, gender identities, cultural differences, and disabilities.

• Strong commitment to Planned Parenthood’s mission of advancing sexual and reproductive health.
