Associate Design Director – Employer Experience

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Spearhead the design for the Lilly Employer platform

• Establish the design vision and set high standards for the platform

• Create flagship experiences through hands-on design work

• Expand a team of designers as the product evolves

• Oversee employer journeys for evaluating coverage options, program development, implementation, reporting, and renewals

• Direct employee journeys for enrollment, clinician appointments, prescription fulfillment, and coaching

• Manage both internal and external design collaborators

• Transform complex and unclear challenges into actionable design prompts

• Create narratives and interactive proof-of-concepts

• Collaborate with design, engineering, product, business, and other stakeholders

• Mentor designers, offering guidance and constructive feedback

• Contribute directly to storytelling, prototypes, and interface artifacts

• Communicate design decisions effectively to non-technical and executive stakeholders

• Assess when to advance or adjust ideas based on user insights and evolving circumstances

⛳️ Requirements

• 8–10+ years of experience in design

• 3+ years of experience leading designers or defining design direction for a product or portfolio in complex settings

• High school diploma/GED with over 10 years of experience in design and/or design research

• Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis

• BA/BS in Human-Computer Interaction, design, or a related field is preferred

• Extensive knowledge in design and a proven track record of delivering digital experiences in both native and web applications

• Ability to balance integration and iteration against measurable priorities, outcomes, and business impact

• Skill in building and sustaining collaborative relationships with cross-functional leaders and external partners

• Outstanding verbal and written communication abilities

• Experience leading design teams in healthcare, pharmaceuticals, or other highly regulated sectors is preferred

• Experience in hiring, developing, and expanding design teams

• Familiarity with contemporary development processes

• Knowledge of modern front-end libraries and frameworks
