This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Offer legal and strategic guidance on international employment issues, encompassing employee relations, terminations, compliance, background checks, benefits, immigration, recruitment, compensation, and related topics.

• Support the management of employment-related disputes, grievances, litigation, and investigations.

• Draft, negotiate, and evaluate employment-related contracts, addenda, and modifications.

• Collaborate with the People team to formulate AlphaSense’s personnel policies.

• Provide counsel on the application of AI technology in employee relations, recruitment/hiring, and various employment processes.

• Stay updated on developments in global employment laws, regulations, and industry standards.

• Assist in the development and improvement of playbooks to scale the legal function as the organization expands.

• Work effectively across different functional groups and time zones.

• Report to the Senior Counsel, Employment, and collaborate with teams such as People, Information Security, Sales, Marketing, Finance, Product, and Content.

⛳️ Requirements

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school.

• Admission to, and active membership in, a state bar.

• At least 3+ years of experience advising clients on employment and labor-related issues in-house, at a nationally recognized law firm, or a combination of both.

• Proficiency in employment laws and regulations, including Title VII, Americans with Disabilities Act, Family and Medical Leave Act, Equal Employment Opportunity laws, wage and hour laws, background check laws, benefits laws, immigration, and other international, federal, state, and local regulations.

• Exceptional business acumen and a dedication to responsive client service.

• A business-friendly and pragmatic approach while managing legal risks.

• Strong negotiation abilities.

• Excellent communication skills with internal and external professionals from diverse backgrounds.
