Associate Corporate Counsel, General Litigation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Evaluate lawsuits, demand letters, customer grievances, and other current or potential legal risks.

• Collect facts, analyze issues, and assist in formulating response strategies.

• Prepare and review court documents in collaboration with external counsel.

• Assist in litigation matters from initial evaluation to resolution.

• Collaborate with opposing counsel to facilitate the resolution of disputes and legal threats.

• Work alongside various teams within the organization to pinpoint litigation risks and devise strategies to mitigate exposure.

• Represent the organization in small claims court when necessary.

• Aid in investigations and responses to inquiries from regulators and Attorneys General offices concerning customer complaints.

• Provide practical and timely legal counsel on business matters.

• Assist internal stakeholders in understanding potential legal implications and risks.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of relevant litigation experience, ideally at a law firm; in-house experience is advantageous.

• Juris Doctor degree from an American Bar Association-accredited law school with strong academic performance.

• Active membership in good standing with the Massachusetts Bar or eligibility for admission as in-house counsel in Massachusetts.

• Practical mindset for analyzing legal matters, assessing risks, and crafting effective solutions.

• Strong organizational abilities and capacity to manage multiple priorities while collaborating with colleagues and external counsel.

• Capability to foster collaborative relationships with internal partners and deliver clear, actionable legal advice.

• Exceptional written, verbal, interpersonal, and analytical skills.

• Keen attention to detail and ability to articulate complex legal issues effectively.

• May be required to obtain a gaming license from the appropriate state agency as a condition of employment.
