This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.
• Effectively and appropriately communicate with team members and external parties.
• Draft, review, and file legal documents including pleadings, motions, and discovery related to ongoing litigation cases.
• Examine litigation case files and pleadings to identify suitable actions.
• Advocate for client interests across various litigation contexts.
• Utilize internal proprietary software to update and document account statuses in assigned inventories.
• Analyze and process litigation inventory reports and files as directed by the Managing Attorney.
• Ensure that the litigation workflow adheres to the expectations of both the firm and its clients.
• Follow client and firm standard operating procedures.
• Travel to different courtrooms within the branch office area as necessary.
• Prepare for and represent clients at hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials.
• Develop case strategies, draft necessary pleadings, conduct discovery, and present oral arguments.
• Negotiate settlements with clients and their legal representatives.
• Assess case merits, evaluate risk exposure, and provide strategic legal advice.
• Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and court procedures.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• Must be admitted to practice law and in good standing in Washington.
• Willingness to be waived into Alaska.
• Strong organizational and time management capabilities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Highly motivated and self-driven individual.
• Eagerness to learn and grow professionally.
• Ability to manage and prioritize a substantial caseload effectively.
• Capability to communicate verbally and/or in writing with individuals or groups in a common language.
• Proficient in operating a computer, phone, or similar devices.
• Ability to maintain a flexible workweek schedule of at least 40 hours.
• Capacity to read and understand position-specific documents and correspondence.
• Ability to lift five pounds or more.
• Ability to sit for up to 90% of the workday at times.
• Ability to bend at the waist and remain mobile as required.
