Associate Actuary

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.

📋 Description

• Responsible for pricing within the Commercial Auto sector for both Small Commercial and Middle Market.

• Conduct actuarial rate indications and formulate actuarial assumptions.

• Oversee annual rate revision assessments, filings, and manage objections.

• Utilize predictive analytics to establish a new auto product and pricing platform.

• Track and evaluate profitability while providing insights to business partners.

• Present technical analyses to business partners and senior management.

• Examine the book of business and work with field leadership to grasp relevant activities and trends.

• Collaborate with other actuarial pricing teams within Commercial Lines.

• Integrate industry and external benchmarks into analyses.

• Enhance efficiency and improvements in current processes.

• May lead or engage in community recruiting and/or training initiatives.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s Degree or higher in a relevant technical discipline.

• A minimum of five years of technical experience across multiple lines of business and/or actuarial fields such as pricing, reserving, or predictive modeling.

• Preferred experience in predictive modeling.

• ACAS designation or higher, or equivalent professional experience.

• Comprehensive understanding of actuarial concepts and methods, with the ability to investigate and apply new techniques based on project needs.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

• Intermediate programming abilities (preferably SQL), including the capacity to develop and automate processes.

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

• Capability to multitask and adhere to deadlines while delivering high-quality results.
