Assistant General Counsel

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Draft, review, and negotiate intricate commercial, software licensing, SaaS, and service agreements within the healthcare, healthcare information technology, and HIT medical device sectors.

• Oversee complex technology transactions from initiation to completion.

• Aid in the management and enhancement of contract management policies and procedures.

• Ensure adherence to procurement and contracting policies and procedures.

• Work alongside the Contracts Manager to offer guidance and training to business teams.

• Partner with the Privacy Officer and Legal Department to address HIPAA privacy, HIPAA security, and other compliance requirements.

• Develop relationships with business teams to efficiently meet their legal support needs.

• Collaborate with business teams to facilitate the closure of transactions.

• Manage and assist with transactional, corporate, compliance, and other legal matters as required.

• Report directly to the Chief Legal Officer and work in conjunction with other attorneys.

⛳️ Requirements

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited U.S. law school or its equivalent.

• High level of academic excellence.

• Licensed to practice law in one or more states within the U.S.

• Minimum of 10 years of relevant legal experience, including experience in large law firms and prior in-house legal roles.

• Proficient in drafting and negotiating complex agreements in healthcare, healthcare IT, and/or life sciences settings.

• Strong knowledge of technology along with HIPAA privacy and security regulations.

• Experience with healthcare information technology (HIT) transactions.

• Outstanding attention to detail, organizational abilities, and judgment.

• Capable of independently managing multiple tasks in a dynamic environment and responding swiftly and effectively to business needs.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to think strategically, engage effectively with in-house clients, and deliver well-organized, thoughtful presentations.
