Assistant Fee Earner – Serious Injury

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Support a portfolio of serious injury claims for clients of Minster Law.

• Primarily manage RTA-based cases that involve intricate technical matters and quantum, ranging from £200,000 to £1,000,000.

• Maintain comprehensive knowledge of cases overseen by the lead fee earner.

• Advance assigned case components in line with agreed action plans.

• Perform chargeable work under the guidance of the fee earner.

• Regularly communicate with clients and participate in face-to-face meetings.

• Engage and meet with multidisciplinary experts, such as medical professionals, case managers, care specialists, architects, forensic accountants, and counsel.

• Evaluate evidence and investigate legal matters relating to liability, causation, and quantum.

• Compose statements, pleadings, and loss schedules.

• Obtain early interim payments, suitable rehabilitation, and optimal settlements for clients.

• Serve as a primary contact for clients and other stakeholders.

• Keep the case management system current and updated.

• Coordinate with Finance regarding disbursements and outstanding accounts.

• Generate essential documents for client meetings, conferences, and settlement discussions.

• Support APIL, Headway, and SIA through networking, business development, case reporting, articles, and testimonials.

• Mentor and nurture junior team members as appropriate.

• Maintain a high standard of work in a results-driven environment.

• Participate in regular one-on-one performance reviews with the line manager.

⛳️ Requirements

• Seasoned legal professional capable of justifying a Grade C charge-out rate, including Qualified Solicitors and Fellows of CILEx.

• Proven experience in assisting with or managing serious injury claims.

• Ability to collaborate with multi-disciplinary experts.

• Strong commitment to providing excellent client care.

• Exceptional communication, negotiation, and objection-handling abilities.

• Capacity to meet objectives in a fast-paced, target-driven environment while ensuring high-quality work and client care.

• Proficiency with case management systems.

• Good command of Excel and Word.

• High attention to detail, along with strong organizational and time management skills.

• Positive, self-motivated, and capable of taking initiative.

• Team player with the ability to mentor junior staff when appropriate.

• Desire to enhance professional profile in the personal injury sector.

• Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and challenging situations.

• Willingness to travel for client meetings and conferences.
