This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +20 more states.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for various clients.
• Oversee workflow and coordinate activities among Senior Controllers, Controllers, Accounting Managers, Staff Accountants, and members of the Management Company team.
• Organize and conduct regular client check-in calls to discuss status updates, open items, and upcoming operational requirements.
• Provide thoughtful and professional responses to ad hoc client inquiries within a 24-hour timeframe.
• Reconcile banking transactions, create journal entries, and maintain general ledgers in Xero in compliance with US GAAP.
• Supervise accounting tasks carried out by junior team members.
• Lead the month-end closing process and raise follow-up questions as necessary.
• Reconcile and manage investment information related to fund investments.
• Prepare and/or review quarterly financial statements, including capital allocations for partners.
• Utilize FundPanel to communicate with investors regarding capital contributions, distributions, and quarterly reports.
• Update FundPanel with fund activities and investments.
• Coordinate audit material preparation and manage year-end financial statement audits and tax work.
• Delegate tasks based on risk assessment and review the work of junior team members.
• Assist Senior Controllers and Controllers with complex or higher-risk tasks.
• Identify personal training requirements and seek professional development opportunities.
• Mentor and guide junior team members, identifying the training needs of the team.
• Approximately 3-5 years of experience in the alternative asset sector.
• Preferred experience in Venture Capital and/or Private Equity.
• Background in external auditing, CPA certification, or an MBA is advantageous.
• Comprehensive knowledge of US GAAP and partnership accounting, including complex allocation waterfalls.
• Experience in a client-facing role, managing engagements across multiple clients.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Enthusiasm for mentoring and coaching team members.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software like Xero or QuickBooks.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
• Willingness to undergo a background check in accordance with local laws and regulations.
