This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
β’ Evaluate patients entering the Specialist Weight Management Service and identify appropriate intervention strategies.
β’ Perform assessments through video calls and collect comprehensive patient data to guide clinical decisions.
β’ Develop personalized formulations based on screening and assessment, clinical expertise, psychological principles, current research, and relevant guidelines such as NICE.
β’ Participate in regular multidisciplinary team meetings to review assessments and oversee patient care.
β’ Engage in clinical supervision with a Practitioner Psychologist concerning complex or high-risk cases.
β’ Manage clinical risks, including safeguarding issues and the potential for suicidal ideation or self-harm.
β’ Uphold confidentiality in accordance with the Data Protection Act.
β’ Independently oversee patient assessment caseloads and escalate pertinent issues to the multidisciplinary team.
β’ Qualified Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (PWP) with BABCP/BPS registration, or HCPC registration as a Dietitian.
β’ Include your BABCP, BPS, or HCPC registration number in your application.
β’ Experience in weight management, bariatric, eating disorder, or mental health environments.
β’ Proven experience in conducting initial assessments and consultations to identify intervention pathways.
β’ Familiarity with conducting risk assessments related to suicidal ideation or self-harm.
β’ Strong understanding of obesity and the challenges faced by individuals living with obesity, including weight stigma.
β’ Capability to deliver supportive, empathetic, patient-centered care to individuals with complex physical and mental health requirements.
β’ Comfortable with fully remote work.
β’ Adequate home working setup, including a private area for confidential consultations and a reliable internet connection.
β’ Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively within a doctor-led multidisciplinary team.
β’ Competence in managing an assessment caseload and escalating relevant concerns to the MDT.
β’ Experience thriving in fast-paced settings and adjusting to changing service demands.
β’ Confidence in utilizing technology for patient care and recording/reviewing patient notes.
