Art Director – Motion & Design

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Australia.

📋 Description

• Lead the visual strategy for both static and motion-driven projects from inception to final output.

• Work in conjunction with Creative Directors and Executive Creative Directors to transform creative briefs into engaging visual stories and design strategies.

• Evaluate and provide constructive feedback on designs, storyboards, style frames, animatics, and motion outputs.

• Supervise designers and motion graphics artists to enhance the quality of design and animation.

• Maintain consistency in typography, composition, color, pacing, transitions, and visual storytelling.

• Showcase creative work and clearly explain design choices to internal stakeholders and clients.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in design or art direction.

• A strong portfolio that exhibits an understanding of contemporary design principles.

• A keen eye for layout, typography, composition, and visual storytelling.

• In-depth knowledge of motion design principles, including timing, pacing, transitions, and animation techniques.

• Experience in developing and assessing style frames, storyboards, mood boards, and motion treatments.

• Proficiency in Figma and Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly in Photoshop, Illustrator, and After Effects.

• Proven experience in directing Motion Designers and providing constructive, actionable feedback throughout the animation workflow.

• Ability to convey complex concepts into clear, engaging, and visually appealing content.

• Confidence in presenting creative work and collaborating with clients and cross-functional teams.

• Exceptional attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality.

• A collaborative, ego-free mindset towards enhancing the work.

• Must hold and maintain an Active Australian Business Number (ABN).

• Must possess and maintain Professional Indemnity and Public Liability Insurance.

• Must have and maintain personal equipment and tools necessary to fulfill the contract.
