
Area Sales Manager – Food Service

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut, +2 more states.
• Formulate and implement strategic sales strategies to drive revenue growth, enhance market presence, and broaden product distribution.
• Cultivate, oversee, and enhance relationships with distributors, operators, chain accounts, manufacturers, and foodservice end users.
• Recognize, develop, and secure new business prospects.
• Boost product penetration and sales within current accounts.
• Conduct sales presentations, business reviews, and product demonstrations.
• Present sales results, market dynamics, growth prospects, and strategic suggestions.
• Collaborate with business development, marketing, distributors, and key operators on sales initiatives.
• Create promotional strategies and product pricing methodologies.
• Track and report sales activities and performance metrics against established goals.
• Evaluate sales performance, market trends, customer insights, and competitive actions.
• Supply research data and customer insights for product development, launches, and business planning.
• Assist with inventory oversight and demand forecasting.
• Coordinate pricing strategies with the Pricing Team.
• Partner with Customer Service, Logistics, and Supply Chain to guarantee order fulfillment and address service challenges.
• Work alongside Accounts Receivable on customer deductions, disputes, and credit issues.
• Maintain precise customer records, sales activities, forecasts, and opportunity pipelines in CRM and reporting systems.
• 3–5 years of proven sales experience in the foodservice sales channel or a related food industry setting.
• Familiarity with the food importing sector is advantageous.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with a proactive and results-driven approach.
• Strong analytical skills and adeptness in problem-solving.
• Capability to prioritize and make informed decisions in complex situations.
• Exceptional interpersonal, organizational, written, and verbal communication abilities.
• Self-driven, adaptable, and collaborative with a robust work ethic.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint.
• Experience with Infor M3 and Salesforce is a plus.
• Willingness and capability to travel at least 50% of the time.
• Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
