Area Ministry Director – Undergraduate Ministry

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead and manage a ministry team dedicated to establishing and nurturing witnessing communities of students and faculty across college and university campuses.

• Exemplify spiritual maturity through engagement with Scripture, prayer, worship, self-leadership, and adherence to Scriptural principles.

• Motivate, mentor, and enhance the skills of campus staff ministers, students, faculty, and ministry collaborators.

• Create a visionary framework and establish witnessing communities throughout various campuses.

• Set annual objectives with ministry teams through a process of prayer, research, and reflection.

• Develop, align, and optimize programs and structures to further ministry objectives.

• Recruit, spiritually nurture, and professionally cultivate a diverse pool of ministerial candidates.

• Provide supervision to ministers through coaching, evaluation, correction, and encouragement.

• Build effective and diverse ministerial teams while fostering healthy cross-cultural relationships.

• Engage in regional leadership and collaborate with local, area, divisional, regional, and national ministers and volunteers.

• Establish systems and processes for reporting, finances, human resources, and other administrative responsibilities.

• Manage budgets, control expenditures, and ensure the financial health of the area.

• Develop and sustain financially, prayerfully, and operationally supportive ministry partnerships.

• Oversee the development of ministers’ ministry partnerships and equip staff to cultivate these relationships.

• Build resource networks that include alumni, volunteers, churches, advocacy councils, and major donors.

• Expand student and staff engagement throughout Georgia.

• Provide support and care for current field and volunteer staff.

• Manage existing partnerships while establishing new ones.

• Formulate a staff recruitment strategy and provide vision and direction for growth.

• Develop strategies aimed at reaching unreached campuses.

• Strengthen partnerships with HBCUs, HSIs, and Asian American communities.

• Create a communal funding model that supports the financial well-being of all staff.

• Travel for campus visits, ministry conferences, MPD meetings, training sessions, and other relevant meetings and conferences.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree is required.

• A minimum of three years of campus ministry or equivalent work experience is required.

• Must annually affirm InterVarsity’s Statement of Agreement (Doctrinal Basis and Purpose Statement).

• Must adhere to InterVarsity’s Code of Conduct.

• Strong ministry skills, including the ability to communicate spiritual vision, teach spiritual and biblical principles, plan ministry programs, and engage in spiritual discipling, coaching, and mentoring.

• Proven capability to collaborate effectively with others and to develop a team of campus ministers.

• Strong interpersonal abilities, including the capacity to minister to diverse ethnic communities and faculty.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Demonstrated problem-solving abilities.

• Proficiency with word processing, presentation, email, and spreadsheet software.

• Willingness to travel to on-campus and off-campus locations as required.

• Ability to secure a donor team to fund the salary costs.
