Archaeology Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Mexico.

📋 Description

• Conduct archaeological fieldwork under the guidance of a Crew Chief, Field Director, and/or Principal Investigator.

• Operate on an as-needed, remote, part-time, on-call basis.

• Execute a variety of tasks that support project personnel.

• Collect and maintain scientific data and project documentation.

• Aid in environmental sampling, operations and maintenance, and inspections at client locations.

• Assist with calculations.

• Set up and manage equipment.

• Assess equipment and installations for adherence to specifications.

• Ensure proper project documentation is maintained.

• Gather and input data.

• Apply technical principles and theories with supervision.

• Provide support for immediate field projects mainly located in Ohio and Illinois.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School diploma required.

• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience or proven equivalent of experience and/or education in archaeological fieldwork.

• Valid US Driver's License necessary.

• Pre-employment verification of driving record required.

• US Citizenship is a must.

• Bachelor's Degree in Anthropology, Archaeology, or a related field is preferred.

• Over 3 years of experience in archaeological survey, testing, excavation, and monitoring is preferred.

• Completion of an archaeological field school is highly desirable.

• Experience with GPS and GIS is preferred.

• Proficiency in computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office, is preferred.

• Willingness to travel overnight for fieldwork sessions is essential.
