Archaeology Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Mexico.

📋 Description

• Execute archaeological fieldwork under the supervision of a field supervisor.

• Recognize and record cultural resources.

• Adhere to Health and Safety protocols as well as AECOM procedures.

• Support the field supervisor with the technical components of fieldwork.

• Gather and input data while applying technical principles and theories under guidance.

• Conduct fieldwork mainly in Oregon and Washington, with possibilities for additional projects.

• Operate on an as-needed, on-call basis, with workdays and hours dictated by project requirements.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School diploma plus 2 years of relevant experience or a proven equivalency of experience and/or education in archaeological fieldwork.

• Valid US Driver's License.

• Pre-employment verification of driving record.

• US Citizenship.

• Ability to travel overnight for field work sessions.

• Bachelor's Degree in Anthropology, Archaeology, or a related field (preferred).

• More than 3 years of experience in archaeological survey, testing, excavation, and monitoring (preferred).

• Completion of an archaeological field school (highly desired).

• Familiarity with GPS and GIS technologies (preferred).

• Proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office (preferred).
