Archaeology Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Mexico.

📋 Description

• Conduct archaeological fieldwork under the guidance of a Crew Chief, Field Director, and/or Principal Investigator

• Carry out various tasks to support project personnel

• Collect and maintain scientific data and documentation

• Aid in environmental sampling, operations and maintenance, and inspections at client locations

• Provide assistance with calculations

• Set up and manage equipment operations

• Examine equipment and installations to ensure compliance with specifications

• Keep accurate project documentation

• Gather and input data

• Implement technical principles and theories under supervision

• Engage in weather-dependent field projects as needed, primarily located in Ohio and Illinois

⛳️ Requirements

• High School diploma

• 2 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of experience and/or education in archaeological fieldwork

• Valid US Driver's License

• Pre-employment verification of driving record

• US Citizenship is mandatory

• Willingness to travel overnight for fieldwork sessions

• Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Anthropology, Archaeology, or a related discipline

• Preferred: Over 3 years of experience in archaeological surveys, testing, excavation, and monitoring

• Completion of an archaeological field school is highly preferred

• Familiarity with geospatial technology, including GPS and GIS

• Proficient in computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office
