This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Mexico.

📋 Description

• Conduct archaeological fieldwork under the guidance of a Crew Chief, Field Director, and/or Principal Investigator.

• Operate on an as-needed basis in a remote, part-time, on-call capacity.

• Assist project personnel with a range of tasks.

• Collect and maintain designated records of scientific data.

• Support environmental sampling, operations and maintenance, and inspections at client locations.

• Help with calculations.

• Set up and utilize equipment.

• Evaluate equipment and installations for adherence to specifications.

• Ensure proper documentation of project activities.

• Gather and input data.

• Implement technical principles and theories under supervision.

• Travel overnight for fieldwork sessions, primarily in Ohio and Illinois.

• Engage in projects anticipated to continue through September–December, with potential extensions based on weather conditions.


⛳️ Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.

• A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience or proven equivalency in experience and/or education in archaeological fieldwork.

• Possession of a valid US Driver's License.

• Verification of driving record prior to employment.

• US Citizenship is mandatory.

• Willingness to travel overnight for fieldwork sessions.

• A Bachelor's Degree in Anthropology, Archaeology, or a related discipline is preferred.

• Over 3 years of experience with archaeological survey, testing, excavation, and monitoring is preferred.

• Completion of an archaeological field school is highly desired.

• Familiarity with GPS and GIS technologies is preferred.

• Proficiency in computer use, including knowledge of Microsoft Office, is preferred.
