Archaeology Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Mexico.

📋 Description

• Conduct fieldwork under the guidance of a Crew Chief, Field Director, and/or Principal Investigator.

• Assist project staff with a diverse range of tasks.

• Collect and maintain designated records of scientific data.

• Support environmental sampling, operations and maintenance, and inspections at client locations.

• Help with calculations.

• Set up and operate equipment.

• Examine equipment and installations to ensure compliance with specifications.

• Keep accurate project documentation.

• Gather and input data.

• Implement technical principles and theories under supervision.

• Engage in archaeological field projects primarily located in Ohio and Illinois.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School diploma.

• Two years of relevant experience or a proven equivalent in experience and/or education in archaeological fieldwork.

• A valid US Driver's License.

• Pre-employment verification of driving record.

• US Citizenship is mandatory.

• Willingness to travel overnight for fieldwork assignments.

• A Bachelor's Degree in Anthropology, Archaeology, or a related discipline is preferred.

• More than three years of experience with archaeological survey, testing, excavation, and monitoring is preferred.

• Completion of an archaeological field school is highly desirable.

• Familiarity with geospatial technology, including GPS and GIS, is preferred.

• Proficiency in computer applications, including knowledge of Microsoft Office, is preferred.
