Arabic Sports Localization Specialist – Football

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Saudi Arabia.

📋 Description

• Review, localize, fact-check, translate, and modify sports-related content, primarily focused on football, while following established writing style guides and protocols.

• Conduct thorough market research tailored to local content, product and terminology trends, and optimal localization practices for the intended audience.

• Provide constructive feedback on written materials.

• Execute quality control for audiovisual content.

• Manage an anticipated workload of 2,000 to 5,000 words weekly.

• Become a part of Welocalize’s localization team dedicated to serving diverse international audiences.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and/or a minimum of 2 years of experience in the linguistic sector, sports journalism, copywriting, or copy-editing.

• Comprehensive knowledge of sports, particularly football.

• Experience in translating and localizing multimedia content, ideally including machine translations and evaluations.

• Native-level proficiency in the target language.

• Outstanding grammar and writing capabilities in the native language.

• Strong skills in creative writing, proofreading, and editing in the native language.

• Solid practical knowledge of computers, mobile devices, word processing software, and spreadsheets.

• Possess a licensed version of MS Office applications.

• Capability to work independently and remotely.

• Evaluation in grammar and Subject Matter Expert (SME) knowledge.

• Published works on platforms like ESPN, The Athletic, FourFourTwo, or similar are advantageous.

• Experience with sports media platforms, live score applications, or sports streaming services is a plus.

• Ability to adjust voice and style to resonate with Gen Z, football fan culture, and contemporary pop culture audiences is an asset.
