Applied Data Scientist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the entire machine learning process, from conception to deployment.

• Develop, enhance, and implement recommendation models that align with Nift's primary business objectives.

• Address deep learning challenges within a production environment.

• Perform exploratory data analysis, data preprocessing, feature engineering, and model development.

• Execute experiments and assess success based on business KPIs, rather than solely on model performance metrics.

• Collaborate with engineering and infrastructure teams to deploy models and expand system capabilities.

• Enhance the quality of recommendations, personalization, and the business outcomes associated with those systems.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in production-level data science settings.

• Solid practical experience in deploying machine learning models in real-world applications.

• Extensive deep learning knowledge; familiarity with PyTorch or TensorFlow is required.

• Direct involvement with recommendation systems, or relevant experience in fields such as bidding or dynamic pricing.

• Proficient in Python and SQL.

• Experience managing data at significant scales — familiarity with high-scale environments is highly advantageous.

• Capability to evaluate model effectiveness through business outcomes, including revenue, conversion rates, churn, or similar KPIs.
