Application Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Propel the revenue growth of Novanta products alongside the Sales team

• Provide guidance to both new and existing clients on strategic, solution-focused offerings

• Execute customer demonstrations, onsite proof-of-concepts, integrations, and startup activities

• Act as the primary technical contact for all customer-related technical inquiries

• Generate product cost and engineering effort estimates for client proposals

• Integrate Novanta products with PLCs, PCs, and various controllers

• Foster customer relationships and ensure satisfaction as a technical liaison

• Update management on status and sales opportunities

• Contribute to the creation of white papers, manuals, and technical documentation

• Represent the voice of the customer within the organization

• Showcase products at customer meetings, trade shows, seminars, and other events

• Collaborate with applications in life sciences, healthcare, medtech, IVD, radiology, diagnostic imaging, and pharmaceutical inventory

• Ensure compliance with quality, environmental, and occupational health and safety standards

⛳️ Requirements

• 2–5 years of relevant experience in customer-facing positions within a technology company

• Minimum of an associate degree in electrical, computer, or software engineering, or equivalent work experience

• A bachelor's degree in electrical, computer, or software engineering is preferred

• Strong problem-solving skills and a customer-centric approach

• Understanding of Engineering and Operations processes, including BOM structures, project estimation, and ECO procedures

• Proficiency in software coding languages such as Python, C++, C#, or Java is preferred

• Knowledge of Machine Vision, Robotics, AI, or Deep Learning is an additional advantage

• Familiarity with customer management systems like Salesforce

• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities

• Fluent in English

• Willingness to travel up to 70% within the USA; some travel to EMEA may be required

• Valid US driver's license is necessary

• Capability to lift up to 50 pounds

• Ability to remain standing for extended durations
