Appian Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Create, develop, test, and sustain Appian applications, encompassing SAIL interfaces, process models, data models, business rules, records, and integrations.

• Convert functional and technical requirements into effective, user-friendly Appian solutions that bolster ACWS business operations.

• Set up and manage Appian process models, interfaces, rules and expressions, records, data types, reports, dashboards, and related application elements.

• Design and execute integrations with external systems and data sources utilizing REST, SOAP, Web APIs, SFTP, HTTPS, or other sanctioned methods.

• Create and refine SQL queries and database interactions that support Appian applications.

• Assist with application deployments, environment promotions, configuration, troubleshooting, and production releases.

• Work in collaboration with solution architects, functional SMEs, QA personnel, DevSecOps engineers, database administrators, and stakeholders throughout the software development lifecycle.

• Lead design and prototype reviews, demonstrations, and working sessions with government stakeholders and team members.

• Conduct code reviews and adhere to Appian development standards, application security practices, and accessibility guidelines.

• Diagnose complex application defects, integration challenges, performance issues, and data inconsistencies, driving issues to resolution.

• Produce and sustain technical documentation, user manuals, training resources, and support documentation.

• Engage in Agile ceremonies and promote continuous improvement, modernization, and process optimization initiatives within ACWS.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related discipline; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.

• Over 3 years of professional software development experience.

• More than 2 years of Appian development experience.

• Strong understanding of Appian development concepts, including SAIL, process modeling, data modeling, integrations, rules and expressions, records, and data types.

• Experience in deploying and supporting applications on the Appian Platform.

• Proficient in SQL and relational databases.

• Background in developing RESTful APIs, web services, or similar application integrations.

• Experience working in Agile software development settings.

• Active Secret clearance or capability to obtain and maintain one.

• U.S. citizenship is required.

• Certification as an Appian Associate Developer, Senior Developer, or Lead Developer.

• Additional experience with the Appian Platform, Appian Cloud, or Appian Government Acquisition Management capabilities.

• Familiarity with supporting DoD contract writing, acquisition, or other federal business process systems.

• Experience with Appian plug-in development, Java/JEE, Spring, or Appian Smart Services.

• Knowledge of LDAP, Active Directory, SSO, SAML, certificates, or related enterprise identity technologies.

• Experience with external integration technologies such as ESB, SFTP, SOAP/WSDL, or enterprise APIs.

• Understanding of FAR, DFARS, Procure-to-Pay, or federal acquisition business processes.

• Experience with Section 508 accessibility and familiarity with secure software development practices.
