
Appellate and Litigation Support Attorney

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.
• Oversee all stages of appellate litigation, which includes drafting appellate briefs, motions, memoranda, and various filings.
• Partner with trial attorneys to deliver strategic litigation and trial support on intricate insurance defense cases.
• Attend trials as necessary in the role of appellate counsel, assist in preserving issues for appeal, and provide real-time strategic advice.
• Execute advanced legal research and analysis concerning complex procedural and substantive matters.
• Draft and assess dispositive motions, post-trial motions, and other critical litigation documents.
• Support attorneys with preparations for hearings and trials.
• Evaluate complex legal issues, pinpoint potential risks and appellate concerns, and formulate effective case strategies.
• Counsel attorneys and clients on legal tactics, exposure, and possible outcomes.
• Collaborate effectively with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to guarantee efficient case management and outstanding client service.
• Keep precise, organized, and timely case files, research, and documentation.
• Meet set billable-hour requirements and internal deadlines.
• Undertake additional tasks as necessary to bolster the firm's litigation and appellate practices.
• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Active membership in the Florida Bar.
• A minimum of 5 years of substantial appellate experience.
• Recent experience in insurance defense litigation.
• Proven track record in handling appellate briefs, complex legal research, and sophisticated written advocacy.
• Experience in insurance litigation involving first-party and third-party claims, insurance coverage, bad faith litigation, personal injury defense, auto liability, premises liability, property damage, or products liability.
• Exceptional abilities in legal research, analysis, and writing.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• In-depth knowledge of appellate procedures and issue preservation for appeals.
• Remarkable attention to detail and organizational abilities.
• Capacity to manage multiple cases, priorities, and deadlines concurrently.
• Strong critical thinking, judgment, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work autonomously while effectively collaborating within a team environment.
