Android Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Singapore.

📋 Description

• Create and implement innovative user-facing features for Android applications.

• Develop stable, efficient, and high-performance code while prioritizing user experience.

• Partner with cross-functional teams to define, design, and launch new features on a large scale.

• Integrate third-party APIs and data sources, including real-time and low-latency services.

• Write unit tests and enhance robustness, reliability, and handling of edge cases.

• Troubleshoot issues, resolve critical bugs, and continually enhance app performance.

• Engage in technical and architectural discussions, contributing to the long-term direction of the product.

• Focus on performance optimization across memory usage, layout, battery consumption, rendering, networking, and cold start times.

• Promote modularization, maintainability of the codebase, and large-scale refactoring initiatives.

• Contribute to code reviews, uphold best practices, and maintain engineering quality standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in Android development.

• Strong expertise in Kotlin and Java programming languages.

• Comprehensive understanding of object-oriented programming and Android fundamentals.

• In-depth knowledge of Android system architecture, lifecycle, and UI rendering processes.

• Familiarity with Jetpack components such as ViewModel and Room.

• Experience with Retrofit, OkHttp, and modern Android networking techniques.

• Practical experience with MVVM/MVI and modular app architecture.

• Proven ability in performance optimization and issue diagnosis.

• Knowledge of debugging and profiling tools like Profiler, Systrace, Perfetto, and LeakCanary.

• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and teamwork abilities.
