Analytics Engineer – Data Engineering, Power BI

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Construct, sustain, and improve data pipelines and transformation workflows utilizing dbt and Python DAGs within Airflow.

• Create clean, dependable, and reusable data models for analytics and reporting purposes.

• Utilize SQL and data warehouse platforms to analyze data, resolve issues, and execute transformations.

• Design and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports, semantic models, and DAX measures.

• Convert business requirements into effective data models and reporting solutions.

• Conduct data analysis, validation, reconciliation, and data quality assessments.

• Address data issues throughout the pipeline, from source through transformation to reporting.

• Take ownership of assigned tasks and guide them through development, testing, and completion.

• Collaborate with business, analytics, and engineering teams to deliver solutions ready for production.

• Recognize how to integrate AI tools to boost productivity.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in advanced English.

• Strong expertise in SQL and data analysis.

• Proficient in Python for building data pipelines, executing complex transformations, and managing integrations.

• Practical experience with dbt and/or contemporary ELT/data transformation methodologies.

• Comprehensive understanding of data modeling, including dimensional modeling, fact/dimension structures, and analytics datasets.

• Experience with a modern cloud data warehouse, preferably Snowflake.

• Extensive experience with Power BI, including data modeling, DAX, dashboard creation, and performance considerations.

• Ability to comprehend unfamiliar datasets and identify relationships, data quality challenges, and transformation needs.

• Experience in debugging and supporting existing data pipelines and analytical solutions.

• Comfortable working autonomously in a dynamic environment and delivering tasks with minimal supervision.

• Over 10 years of experience.

• Excellent communication skills, client-facing abilities, and attention to detail.

• Capable of contributing individually as well as collaborating within a team.

• Fully hands-on in the specified skills.
