AI Product Engineer – Agent & Integrations

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Enhance Duet's agent harness by incorporating new data sources.

• Develop MCP access to Duet's functionalities.

• Create curated prompts and skills.

• Design and execute the strategy to present Duet's features via MCP.

• Introduce data sources by writing lightweight TypeScript connectors and integrating them into the agent as composable tools.

• Comprehend data sources and identify effective methods to integrate them into Duet.

• Write and refine system prompts, tool designs, skill definitions, and the architecture that connects these resources.

• Enhance and optimize the production agent loop, which includes context management, streaming, Redis locks, billing, and user presentation.

• Convert user requirements into phased delivery plans and deliver thin vertical slices incrementally.

• Collaborate with team members, share ideas, challenge methodologies, and pursue continuous improvement.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 3 years of professional software engineering experience.

• Proficient in TypeScript/Node backend development.

• At least 12 months of experience in building LLM agents, focusing on the integration and orchestration of complex tools and data sources.

• Proven track record of delivering results efficiently.

• Discipline in incremental delivery; ability to break down tasks so that each PR adds user value or signifies a deliberate milestone.

• Demonstrated experience in prompt engineering as part of product work, including structured prompts, learning from failure modes, and version control.

• Experience in integrating third-party APIs into an agent framework.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with an emphasis on teamwork and collaboration.
