AI Platform Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and manage secure, scalable cloud platforms for client teams.

• Collaborate closely with cross-functional product teams, including developers, DevOps engineers, security personnel, and product leaders.

• Minimize deployment challenges and enhance platform reliability.

• Take ownership of platform deliverables and provide guidance on architectural decisions.

• Create and implement cloud infrastructure across development, staging, and production environments.

• Develop and maintain deployment pipelines, CI/CD automation, and infrastructure-as-code.

• Deploy, manage, and secure AI infrastructure, encompassing LLM serving, vector storage, and agentic systems.

• Engage with AI-assisted development tools and facilitate their safe integration into platforms.

• Offer insights on AI deployment patterns and operational best practices during integration reviews.

• Establish observability systems that include metrics, logging, and tracing.

• Oversee cloud provisioning, configuration, security, reliability, cost management, and compliance.

• Monitor and optimize cloud resources for cost-effectiveness and performance.

• Collaborate with development, DevOps, security, product, and other cross-functional teams.

• Diagnose platform issues, participate in incident response, and implement improvements.

• Create runbooks, architecture documentation, and troubleshooting guides.

• Review infrastructure modifications and contribute to architectural standards.

• Optimize systems for latency, throughput, and resource efficiency.

• Advise leadership on platform strategy and direction.

• Support teams in the adoption of AI-assisted development tools, ensuring safe integration into platform workflows.

• Monitor model performance, guard against prompt injection attacks, ensure data governance, and reliably scale AI for production.

⛳️ Requirements

• 3–8 years of hands-on experience in platform, infrastructure, DevOps, or cloud engineering.

• Familiarity with LLM APIs, vector databases, or AI model serving.

• Experience with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude, Cursor).

• Understanding of AI security concepts: prompt injection, data governance, model monitoring, and output validation.

• Strong expertise in supporting and building on one cloud platform (AWS, Azure, GCP).

• Extensive experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, Pulumi, etc.).

• Solid knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, and CI/CD pipeline design.

• Hands-on experience with deployment automation, observability, and incident response.

• Capability to troubleshoot distributed systems and production issues; comfortable with on-call responsibilities.

• Excellent communication skills; able to articulate technical trade-offs to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash, Go) and fundamentals of Linux/Unix administration.

• Experience with version control (Git), collaborative workflows, and infrastructure automation.

• Availability for regular working sessions and discovery workshops with client teams.

• Daily overlap with client business hours.

• Capacity to work independently while collaborating with client and Modus leaders.

• Ability to document solutions, share insights, and contribute to internal runbooks.

• Ability to engage in pair programming and tackle complex technical challenges collaboratively.

• Willingness to participate in code and architecture reviews and seek input on designs.

• Ability to coordinate with security, product, and other teams beyond just infrastructure and development.
