AI Innovation Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +26 more states.

📋 Description

• Enhance operational effectiveness by utilizing AI-driven tools and workflows throughout the organization.

• Collaborate closely with VPs, directors, sales leadership, subject matter experts, and senior management.

• Design and develop proprietary AI agents and automation workflows leveraging company-specific data.

• Create and oversee a comprehensive playbook that encompasses discovery, pilot projects, improvements, implementation, adoption, and evaluation.

• Lead pilot programs and proofs of concept across various disciplines.

• Build and sustain integrations for AI tools, business systems, and advertising platforms.

• Develop APIs, validation frameworks, and data pipelines.

• Work with subject matter experts to ensure that workflows are valuable, user-friendly, and connected to the right data.

• Establish systems and regular schedules to enhance adoption, verify outputs, measure progress, and revisit training sessions.

• Maintain documentation of the AI stack, which includes tool inventory, vendor strategy, build-vs-buy assessments, integration maps, and shared-context architecture.

• Create reusable patterns, agentic workflows, and MCP integrations.

• Provide consultation on build-versus-buy decisions.

• Conduct internal training sessions, office hours, and troubleshooting clinics.

• Offer advice on service-model artifacts, scope-of-work documentation, pricing considerations, policies, and marketing materials.

• Contribute to AI policies and standard operating procedures that mitigate risks.

• Catalog workflows, skills, and AI tools.

• Integrate workflows into a custom frontend alongside the Head of Apollo and engineering teams.

• Foster the growth of the innovation function as a center of excellence or as an extension of the Data Platform, Apollo.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of professional experience, with at least 2 years in the marketing or agency sector.

• A solid engineering background adequate for evaluating tools, constructing agentic workflows, launching MCP integrations, and utilizing Claude Code, Cursor, and Codex in daily tasks.

• Familiarity with security and performance best practices in both traditional software and agentic environments.

• Proficiency in Python and at least one of TypeScript, SQL, or relevant scripting languages.

• Capability to map business workflows comprehensively and identify areas where AI can provide leverage.

• Proven history of delivering production AI work that has seen successful adoption.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to articulate technical architecture to non-technical executives and translate strategic objectives into actionable workflows.

• Demonstrated ability to influence without direct authority and drive results.

• Experience with React/Node and custom front-end applications is an advantage.

• Knowledge of paid, earned, and owned media tools and systems is a plus.

• Familiarity with BigQuery, DBT, DLT, and GCP is a bonus.

• A public record of delivered AI projects is a plus.

• Must possess legal authorization to work in the United States.
