AI Full-Stack Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Africa.

📋 Description

• Develop and deploy production-ready AI-driven applications utilizing LLMs such as OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, and Google Gemini.

• Create and implement AI workflows, prompt engineering methodologies, and intelligent automation solutions.

• Incorporate AI functionalities into current applications, business systems, and internal tools.

• Assess and enhance AI outputs for precision, dependability, performance, and cost-effectiveness.

• Utilize fine-tuning and other model customization techniques when applicable.

• Design, develop, and sustain scalable applications using JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, React, and Next.js.

• Construct and maintain robust APIs, webhooks, and integrations with external platforms.

• Design, manage, and optimize PostgreSQL databases and data models.

• Create secure, maintainable, and high-performance applications that support expanding user bases.

• Diagnose technical issues and continuously enhance application performance.

• Assume responsibility for technical architecture and make independent engineering choices.

• Build scalable systems capable of accommodating thousands of users.

• Oversee deployment workflows and cloud environments using tools like Vercel and Docker.

• Utilize Git and GitHub for version control, collaboration, and code management.

• Establish development practices centered on testing, reliability, security, and maintainability.

• Discover opportunities to streamline business processes through AI and software automation.

• Create internal tools and integrations that minimize repetitive manual tasks.

• Work directly with leadership to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

• Clearly communicate technical decisions, progress, and challenges to non-technical stakeholders.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of professional full-stack development experience.

• Proven experience in building and deploying AI-powered applications in a production environment.

• Strong expertise in JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, and modern front-end frameworks like React or Next.js.

• Significant experience with PostgreSQL, including database design and optimization.

• Practical experience integrating LLM APIs, such as OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google Gemini.

• Background in developing REST APIs, third-party integrations, and automated workflows.

• Experience in deploying and maintaining scalable applications within cloud environments.

• Demonstrated ability to independently design and architect systems utilized by thousands of users.

• Strong skills in Git/GitHub and the ability to clearly articulate technical contributions.

• Excellent written and spoken English communication abilities.

• Candidates should be ready to provide a GitHub profile, portfolio, live application, or detailed project walkthrough.

• Practical, hands-on experience is crucial.
