AI Engineer, Senior

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design and develop multi-step AI agents, reasoning flows, and automation workflows that interact with both internal and external systems.

• Implement the logic for agents, along with tooling and workflow orchestration.

• Create retrieval pipelines and workflows that ground knowledge.

• Construct structured extraction flows utilizing LLMs and transformation logic.

• Transform prototypes into production-ready services that include monitoring and predictable behavior.

• Ensure that agents are explainable, observable, and possess clearly defined failure and fallback paths.

• Define architectures for applied AI solutions using TypeScript/Node or Python.

• Integrate agents with APIs, databases, event systems, and existing product surfaces, including protocols such as MCP or A2A.

• Establish patterns for prompt management, model selection, retrieval, and verification.

• Implement evaluation pipelines to track accuracy, drift, and reliability.

• Develop reusable modules and internal tools to expedite future AI development.

• Create functional prototypes and demos to validate concepts.

• Evaluate the feasibility, complexity, and risks associated with proposed AI features.

• Collaborate with sales and delivery teams to define scope and technical strategies.

• Provide guidance on trade-offs between model and architecture selections.

• Assist in establishing realistic timelines and delivery plans.

• Mentor backend engineers in AI patterns, workflows, and integration techniques.

• Introduce best practices for testing, evaluation, observability, and versioning.

• Share insights on prompting, model behavior, and tool utilization.

• Set standards for the design and delivery of applied AI solutions.

⛳️ Requirements

• 5+ years of relevant experience within the specified range.

• 6–15 years of software engineering experience with a strong foundation in backend technologies.

• Demonstrated experience in building and deploying applied AI systems or agents in a production environment.

• Proficient hands-on experience with TypeScript/Node and Python.

• Experience with agent frameworks or custom orchestration patterns.

• Solid understanding of retrieval workflows, embeddings, chunking, and evaluation methodologies.

• Experience with vector databases and associated tools.

• Good grasp of underlying infrastructure and production operations, including LLMOps.

• Ability to design and integrate multi-step workflows with external systems and APIs.

• Comfortable transitioning from prototype to production while ensuring reliability and observability.

• Capable of deconstructing ambiguous ideas and proposing clear, technically sound solutions.

• Excellent communication skills, particularly in articulating feasibility and technical trade-offs.

• Nice to have: experience with speech-to-text or text-to-speech pipelines.

• Nice to have: familiarity with workflow engines or orchestration tools.

• Nice to have: experience with evaluation frameworks or custom benchmarking pipelines.

• Nice to have: exposure to model monitoring, versioning, or lightweight MLOps practices.
