AI Engineer, English C1

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia.

📋 Description

• Design and develop intricate backend AI modules, tailored agentic workflows, multi-step reasoning chains, and orchestrated tool-use pipelines.

• Convert AI strategists' architectural designs into high-performance, production-ready code.

• Take full ownership of the end-to-end delivery of AI components from the initial structure to deployment.

• Utilize AI coding assistants to enhance output while ensuring code quality and maintaining architectural integrity.

• Architect and optimize RAG pipelines for unstructured, messy, and multi-modal data.

• Implement vector database solutions based on query patterns, data volume, and latency needs.

• Identify and resolve production retrieval issues related to chunking, embeddings, indexing, or prompt construction.

• Develop and sustain agentic systems with intentional tool selection, memory architecture, and failure recovery strategies.

• Manage context-window limitations and avert the silent loss of essential information.

• Refine prompt pipelines for latency and cost efficiency using benchmarking.

• Deploy AI services utilizing Infrastructure as Code and containerized environments.

• Create unit, integration, and AI evaluation tests.

• Maintain production systems with structured logging, alerting, and cost monitoring.

• Abstract reusable internal tools, libraries, and services derived from client engagement patterns.

• Document internal tools for independent usage by other engineers.

• Contribute to Cadre's internal AI platform, participate in architecture reviews, and propose improvements.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in backend engineering.

• At least 1 year of experience in building and delivering production AI agents in a client-facing or dynamic product environment.

• Extensive hands-on expertise with vector databases, advanced RAG optimization, and agentic orchestration.

• Proficient in Python and Node.js.

• Strong understanding of backend architecture patterns, including API design, asynchronous processing, parallel execution, and secure credential management.

• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or Pulumi.

• Experience with deployments using Docker and Kubernetes.

• Knowledge of maintainable infrastructure at scale.

• Skills in systems design that emphasize abstraction and reuse.

• Certified Claude Architect or a demonstrated capability to obtain the certification within the first 60 days.

• Proficient in effectively utilizing AI coding assistants.

• Ability to address unstructured data challenges and legacy integration limitations.

• A strong sense of ownership, including completing tasks, identifying blockers early, and upholding high-quality systems.
