AI Engineer – AWS, Gen AI

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Create and implement Generative AI solutions utilizing Amazon Bedrock, Foundation Models, Knowledge Bases, RAG patterns, and agent-based architectures.

• Construct, deploy, and sustain production-ready AI applications and services within AWS cloud infrastructures.

• Design serverless solutions leveraging AWS Lambda and manage workflows through AWS Step Functions.

• Containerize and deploy workloads using Amazon ECS and AWS Fargate.

• Integrate AI solutions with enterprise systems and data platforms, such as Amazon RDS and Snowflake.

• Architect scalable, secure, and maintainable frameworks for enterprise AI applications.

• Implement infrastructure utilizing Terraform and adhere to Infrastructure as Code best practices.

• Apply AWS IAM security principles, roles, permissions, and governance standards effectively.

• Develop REST APIs and backend services to support AI-driven applications.

• Facilitate the industrialization of GenAI use cases, transitioning solutions from Proof of Concept to production.

• Collaborate with Data Engineers, Cloud Engineers, Architects, AI Specialists, and client stakeholders.

• Contribute to technical standards, architectural choices, and AWS/AI best practices across various projects.

⛳️ Requirements

• Relevant academic qualifications in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Data Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.

• Experience as an AI Engineer, Machine Learning Engineer, Cloud Engineer, Data Engineer, or in a similar capacity.

• Extensive hands-on experience working with AWS in production settings.

• Proven experience in designing, developing, and deploying Generative AI or LLM-based applications.

• Background in building scalable cloud-native applications and services.

• Strong grasp of software engineering principles, APIs, and distributed architectures.

• Capability to work effectively in multidisciplinary environments.

• Professional proficiency in English.

• Familiarity with Amazon Bedrock, Foundation Models, Knowledge Bases, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and agent-based AI architectures.

• Proficiency in AWS Lambda, ECS, Fargate, RDS, IAM, and Step Functions.

• Experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code.

• Knowledge of Python, REST API design, service integration, and contemporary software engineering practices.

• Familiarity with Git, version control, and collaborative development methodologies.

• Understanding of scalability, security, performance, and maintainability within AWS ecosystems.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and solution design skills.
