AI Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Develop workflows for invoice intake, extraction, and GL coding utilizing Claude within an Oracle NetSuite accounts payable and vendor payment initiative.

• Optimize workflows based on historical coding patterns, vendor diversity, and current invoice volumes during a parallel-run pilot phase.

• Set up confidence tiers, auto-approval processes, exception routing, and human-in-the-loop thresholds for transactions of high value.

• Create, test, and manage versions of prompts for coding, duplicate justifications, exception summaries, and anomaly evaluations.

• Establish ground-truth evaluation sets, accuracy metrics, and regression tests for every modification.

• Ensure extraction and coding precision meets established targets and document acceptance evidence accordingly.

• Develop Claude-assisted monitoring automation and duplicate saved searches, including investigation summaries and disposition drafts.

• Create a workflow for budget-versus-actual variance commentary tailored for the finance team.

• Assist with cutover, record baseline metrics, and engage in post-implementation hypercare activities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in developing production workflows using LLM APIs (at least 24 months).

• Preference for candidates with experience in Anthropic Claude.

• Proficiency in prompt engineering, structured extraction, and confidence scoring.

• Strong skills in Python and REST API integration.

• Ability to work effectively with third-party ERP systems.

• Experience in production-quality document extraction for invoices, forms, contracts, or similar semi-structured documents.

• Familiarity with building evaluation sets and regression suites for non-deterministic outputs.

• Competence in structured output and schema validation, including managing malformed or low-confidence results.

• Methodical prompt iteration based on real data.

• Legal authorization to work as an independent contractor in the United States.

• At least two references required from personally built production LLM projects; three are preferred.

• References must include name, current title, organization, direct phone or email, project, and role.

• Possession of Anthropic, cloud provider, or ML certifications with credential IDs, if applicable.

• Preferred experience with SuiteScript 2.x or prior NetSuite / ERP integration.

• Background in AP, finance, or accounting document processing is preferred.

• Experience with OCR and document-capture pipelines is preferred.

• Preferred experience on a team where an architect manages the design and the candidate manages the build.
