AI Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Australia.

📋 Description

• Create comprehensive full-stack AI applications on Cloudera to illustrate how AI and agentic systems address enterprise challenges.

• Collaborate closely with strategic customer teams to advance AI and agentic use cases from prototype stages to production readiness.

• Provide guidance to customer leaders on AI roadmaps, prioritization of use cases, deployment considerations, and alignment with business objectives.

• Standardize effective solution patterns into reproducible reference architectures, productized solutions, starter kits, and internal playbooks.

• Mentor Cloudera teams and contribute to resources that enhance AI capabilities.

• Relay field and customer insights to Product teams to enhance AI platforms and products.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in building and deploying production-grade systems.

• 2–3 years of experience in developing Generative AI or agentic applications.

• Strong practical skills in software engineering, data engineering, and applied AI/ML.

• Experience in building full-stack AI applications or agentic systems utilizing modern AI frameworks and tools.

• Familiarity with foundation models, context engineering, fine-tuning, semantic search, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and agentic workflows.

• In-depth knowledge of LLMOps/MLOps practices, including evaluation, observability, serving, monitoring, and lifecycle management.

• Proven experience in designing and implementing scalable AI solution architectures that adhere to enterprise standards, including security, governance, and compliance.

• Ability to engage directly with both technical and executive customer audiences, translating their needs into actionable technical strategies.

• Capability to work independently in ambiguous and fast-paced customer environments.

• A collaborative mindset and a passion for empowering others through mentorship, internal enablement, or reusable tools.

• Familiarity with cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, or GCP (preferred).

• Experience using the Cloudera platform (preferred).

• Knowledge of open source big data technologies like Spark, Iceberg, or NiFi (preferred).

• Experience with AI infrastructure and runtime technologies, including NVIDIA GPUs, inference optimization, model serving, or distributed AI workloads (preferred).
