AI Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Implement and operationalize AI-enhanced development methodologies, such as code generation, AI pair-programming, and automated test creation.

• Recognize obstacles in transforming customer requests into delivered features and utilize AI tools to expedite the process.

• Collaborate with developers skilled in Angular, React, C#, and TypeScript to incorporate AI tools into their daily routines.

• Create reusable frameworks and playbooks to promote AI-assisted delivery across various teams.

• Design, develop, and deploy AI functionalities within existing configurable SaaS platforms.

• Integrate LLMs and machine learning models into legacy systems while maintaining existing requirements.

• Establish automation pipelines to minimize manual operational tasks.

• Develop intelligent agents and AI-driven workflow systems.

• Implement Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems and embedding pipelines.

• Work with vector databases and retrieval mechanisms.

• Construct AI orchestration layers and agent frameworks.

• Ensure the reliability, monitoring, and assessment of AI outputs.

• Deploy and sustain models in a production environment.

• Collaborate with engineering leads, product managers, operators, and stakeholders from non-technical backgrounds.

• Convert vague product and development process challenges into scalable AI solutions.

• Balance the need for rapid delivery with engineering integrity under tight customer timelines.

• Drive project execution with minimal supervision.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience working with highly configurable, enterprise-grade SaaS platforms (not greenfield products).

• Proficient in Python programming.

• Comfortable working with Angular, React, C#, and TypeScript.

• Backend development experience involving APIs and microservices within a mature production codebase.

• Experience in deploying production systems.

• Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or GCP.

• Knowledge of CI/CD, Docker, and containerization.

• Experience integrating LLMs, including OpenAI, Anthropic, or open-source models.

• Background in AI-assisted development tools at team scale.

• Experience in prompt engineering.

• Familiarity with RAG pipelines.

• Experience with vector databases such as Pinecone, Weaviate, or FAISS.

• Knowledge of embeddings and semantic search.

• Familiarity with model fine-tuning techniques.

• Understanding of supervised and unsupervised learning principles.

• Familiarity with evaluation frameworks for LLM systems.

• Knowledge of hallucination mitigation, guardrails, and output validation methods.

• Experience in building data pipelines and ETL processes.

• Experience working with both structured and unstructured data.

• Proficient in API integrations across SaaS platforms.

• Experience with automation tools and workflow orchestration.

• Familiarity with model versioning and experiment tracking.

• Experience in monitoring model performance.

• Knowledge of logging and observability practices.

• Experience in A/B testing AI features.

• Strong comfort level working within legacy, configurable enterprise platforms.

• Highly hands-on; capable of delivering results rather than just designing.

• Comfortable navigating ambiguity and tight deadlines.

• Business-oriented, focusing on ROI and customer impact.

• Pragmatic in tool selection.

• Preferred but not required: experience with CACFP, childcare, child nutrition, education, government programs, or other regulated sectors.
